Day 716 - Borneo begins

While the girls attempted to catch some sleep on the hard plastic benches at the airport Adam played guard with the bags that make up our total worldly possessions and made far too many trips to the McD's refill!!

When morning finally broke, and our battle for sleep had finally been lost we headed for check-in - but since we're not actually leaving Malaysia it was pretty straightforward. Before we knew it we were boarding our chap AirAsia flight to the Island paradise called Borneo.In Kota Kinabalu (the capital of Sabah state) we caught the local bus into town and spent the next hour trudging around in the hot sun and stammering at the insane prices of the accommodation - we ending up taking 3 beds in a dorm room for almost double what we paid for our private room last night in Melaka.

With accommodation sorted and our bags off our backs we set out for food as coffee and chips aren't enough to live on no matter how hard you try!!
While sitting down at the ocean-side pier watching the sun set over the small islands off the coast, we met Brit couple Helen and Skev who we ended up chatting the rest of the night away with over ice tea at the corner Indian restaurant. Adlibing a new day from one that didn't end!
