Day 695 - Simply snorkeling

Since our bodies were exhausted from the huge day of travelling the day before, we weren't surprised that we didn't wake up much before 10am. After iced coffee, which is a requirement for 2 of the Adlibing team, we chatted with a taxi driver and realised that if we want to go to anywhere else on the island we're going to have to get up early and walk - the terrible roads mean that the taxis are way too expensive for us. Getting a 2km ride to the other side of the island costs from NZ$15 to as expensive as NZ$100 for some further away.

So we collected our snorkeling gear, some muffins and bananas and ambled along the sandy beach to the rocks that separate bay from bay. After wading through the shallow waters we found a warm flat rock to dump our gear and set off to explore the ocean life. The crystal clear waters of this tropical island is home to an array of ocean life and it's impossible to list what we saw today - fish swim by you in all shapes and sizes, sporting suits of every colour imaginable. The fish go about their lives oblivious to us human invaders of the water, darting in and out of the coral playground. The water was so warm that you could stay in there for hours, which is basically what we did!The evening was what we expect every night on the island to be - finding a nice restaurant and enjoying a drink on the beach.

Adlibing tropical Tao.
