Day 704 - Where did the day go?

We were kept awake last night by our resident reptiles, something we're becoming accustomed to in Asia, which resulted in us sleeping in until nearly 10am! By this time the tropical sun was beating down on our room and we needed to escape to the water front for air!
The next few hours were spent enjoying Malaysian delicacies while the water lapped at the white beach at our feet. When we couldn't sit around any more, the girls and Aussie Micheal grabbed snorkels and went out for an exploration into the clear green waters, and ended up sitting in the sun on a floating raft that bobbed on the surface of our private little bay. In the meantime Adam alternated between paddling in the shallows and turning the pages on a paperback under the sun.
Later on we all summoned up enough energy to take a little hike through the middle of the island to the other side to Long Beach - we were immediately glad we had opted to stay on Coral Bay as the accommodation on Long Beach looks more than a little tired, and the music blaring from the beach side restaurants would interrupt our tropical tranquillity. The small waves hitting the shore would also mess with our snorkelling - and hey, it's only 10 minutes walk through the jungle if we wanted what Long Beach has!
After wandering back to Coral Bay we sheltered from a long, thundering storm that battered at our bungalow and dripped water through our windows! Eventually the rain relented and we went down the beach for more Malaysian cuisine, under the night sky.
Adlibing quiet Coral Bay.
