Day 553 - Last day in Nepal

Heading back into the temple complex we were looking forward to seeing the vast array of monasteries and the differing architecture from so many countries. At the beginning we were slightly disappointed as most places were either under construction or closed (and abandoned) for no apparent reason. The first temple we came to was the Chinese one, which we skipped as we saw more than enough Chinese temples during our 17 months in China.
The first one we went into was a German built Tibetan Buddhist temple that was stunning and perfect in every little detail - we can only imagine how nice the whole complex would be if all temples were like this one. Over the next few hours we saw a number more, many through closed gates - we particularly liked the Royal Thai monastery, which captivated our eyes. We also had a wander through the Myanmar Temple, with its huge golden dome stretching into the sky, and enjoyed a refreshing drink in the shade of its leafy trees.
In the afternoon we caught the bus to the border at Sunauli and walked for an hour looking for a half-decent hotel (what we got was questionable). On the way we paused for a sit down beside the road, and soon we had crowds of people around us saying hello - one grandmother even handed a smiling baby to Liv for a cuddle.

Adlibing it to the border.
