Day 462 - A morning at the Embassy

After being warned by a fellow traveller yesterday that the guy at the Kazakh Embassy was a right tosser and that the process was long and arduous, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Embassy to only a 5 person queue. Yes we had to scurry to a bank and back (always the cheapos taking marshrutkas and walking rather than pay for a taxi!), and then wait in a 40 minute queue on our return, but after 3 and a half hours we had successfully put in our application and were on our way home for washing and a snooze! And the guy wasn't even that grumpy ... PLUS we got away with using our e-ticket as proof of our flight to get a transit visa despite being told by others they wouldn't accept it.

After our rest we came back into town to the net and went to the supermarket to pick up food for dinner. Tomorrow we have to figure out what we're going to do while we wait for our visas and then what we'll do until the 27th (oh no, booking our flights 2 weeks in advance is turning us into 'planners' - help!!).

Adlibing yet another Embassy.
