After getting on the train at midnight, we all pretty much found our beds and went straight to sleep! We spent the day on the train doing nothing much more than sitting, lying, reading, eating and chatting - although at one stage mum and dad had an English lesson with one of the train conductors!!
For about the last 2 -3 hours of our 18 hour train trip we had some amazing views of the mountains and small villages - just a small taste of what's to come over the next week or so we spend around here in Anhui Province (one of the provinces not to be missed according to the Lonely Planet!). 
We arrived at Huangshan City around 6.30pm, checked into the hostel across the road and headed out for a stroll around town, we paused to watch a small park filled with Chinese laddies dancing with fans while the kids and men chilled in the cool of the evening. 
Eventually we had a late dinner at a hotpot restaurant. Yum yum!
