Day 483 - Haggling between shops

Breakfast along the same lines as yesterday meant the day started with us well fed!! We then headed off to the internet but got sidetracked by shopping, shopping, and more shopping for mountain gear... hang on, before you think we're becoming shopaholics, the kind of shopping we did today was the kind where you look, look, get prices and never buy anything! We did actually buy one pair of pants for Adam and yesterday we got a skirt for Liv - yay!
Along the way we heard chants coming from a side street, and we stopped to watch marchers with "Fair Trade" and "Tourists: Beware of hawkers" signs, accompanied by officers. In between shops we checked out the little things that make the maze of streets even more interesting and that remind us that we are in fact still in Asia. When we eventually made it to the computer Adam left Liv to catch up on emails, blogs and mumbles chatting, while he went off to do more research for Operation 6000m. First stop was a family friend at Ultimate Descents / The Last Resort, however Dave was out of Kathmandu and will be flying back to NZ before we can catch up, but the effort was made half way across the world (Dr Death, I did my best)!

Liv finished on the computer and went to meet Adam at the headquarters for Operation 6000m where all the final details were put together for the adlibers' Annapurna Circuit trek and Adam's personal challenge of climbing a Himalayan peak over the 6000m mark!!!! Liv's concern bubbled over the brim, while Adam's stomach started doing flips anticipating ropes, ice axes, crampons and other mountaineering gear!

With our stomachs rumbling we found a cheap restaurant for lunch/dinner, and surprise surprise, more shop searching! The pleasure of wandering streets we wandered 8 years ago is still high and we feel a natural comfort being back here.

Adlibing it window shopping.
PS here's a pic from our balcony:
