Our first mode of transport for today was our feet, which deposited us at the bus station and 10 minutes later we were rolling our way towards Xining the capital of Qinghai. Along the way we soaked up as much of the beautiful Qinghai scenery we could, though our attention was often diverted to the 100s of rockslides caused by digging roads into crumbling cliffs!
In Xining we waited an hour for our next bus back to Lanzhou, on our arrival we were super stoked to get sleeper tickets heading to Dunhuang for tonight. This would be our first proper stop for sightseeing in Gansu, after the access problems we had last week!
We had just enough time to munch down a feed and grab some fresh fruit for the trip, before boarding and setting in for the night.
